125th Anniversary Celebration: Photo Recap

125th Anniversary Celebration: Photo Recap

On November 5, 2016, the Daughters celebrated their 125th Anniversary Celebration at the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park in Stonewall, Texas. The festivities included music by John Arthur Martinez, performances by the Pioneer Women, wine tasting from William Chris Winery and Hahne Estates Winery at the Texas Redback Saloon, a visual display on the history of the DRT, gifts for sale at the Austin Colony Mercantile/General Store, barbecue and Tex-Mex food options, period reenactors, wagon displays, children’s games, tours of the LBJ Ranch, and more.

It was a grand time made possible by a group of dedicated Daughters led by Arlene Garey, DRT Custodian General; Martha Fleitas, 4th Vice President; and Sherry Jenkins, DRT 125th Event Coordinator. Special thanks also go out to Nona Hoyer and Barbara D. Johnson with the DRT Headquarters Committee for going above and beyond the call of duty behind the scenes. The DRT thanks you for all of your hard work.
