April 8The Battle of San Jacinto Symposium – Make plans to attend the annual San Jacinto Symposium from 9am to 2pm at the San Jacinto battleground. Registration is open through April 3, 2017.

April 8: Dedication of veteran markers for Republic of Texas Rangers – Join us at 10am at San Fernando Cemetery #1 in San Antonio.

April 21San Jacinto Day* – On this date, General Sam Houston and the Texas Army defeated Santa Anna’s Mexican troops in the Battle of San Jacinto. Join the San Jacinto DRT chapter at 11am at the San Jacinto Monument to celebrate Texas Independence Day.

April 24: Pilgrimage to the Alamo – Departing from the Vietnam Memorial at the Tobin Center. Please arrive by 3:30pm to walk.

April 28: Battle of Flowers Parade – The Battle of Flowers Parade is the oldest event and largest parade of Fiesta® San Antonio, attracting crowds of more than 350,000. It is the only parade in the United States produced entirely by women, all of whom are volunteers.

April 29: Dedication of the Red River, the Northern Boundary of the Republic of Texas – Join us at 11:30am at 1584 E. 3rd St. in Burkburnett, Texas. For more information, contact Debby Holt at 817-907-6985.
